May 21, Vavuniya: The chief incumbent of the Asgiri chapter Ven. Udugama Buddharakkhitha thero today visited the welfare centers in Vavuniya to assess the needs of Internally Displaced Persons.

The Asgiri Maha Vihara temple in Kandy said the Ven. Udugama Buddharakkhitha thero has visited the Menik Farm welfare center in Vavuniya this morning and donated some food items and clothes among the IDPs.

This was the first occasion that a chief incumbent thero had visited the IDPs in Vavuniya and held several discussions with them.
