Short term novitiate programme, Nov/Dec. 2010
The Siladidhamma Pavarasaya Vihara( Chong Sheng Shi 崇圣寺) is a Registered (Malayan Buddhist Association, No. PK 92/28426 registered 16-9-2003.) Chinese Theravada Buddhist Temple situated near Kg. Tasek, Pengkalan Hulu, Perak. This is a Chinese medium Theravada tradition Buddhist temple in West Malaysia.
This temple was established for seven years now. Presently there are three monks and four nuns staying in this monastery.
Kuala Kangsar Guan Yin Temple was established about 70 years ago by a lay lady for the local Chinese folks to worship the many deities of the Taoist tradition. After two lady "Chai Ku" have managed the temple, this present "Chai Ku" Mdm Lam decided to hand over to Buddhist Sangha, on 26/11/2009, it was handed to Bhante Dhammavaro, it has undergone some facelift, a Burmese Jade Buddha statue was offered by the Triple Wisdom Buddhist Temple and sponsored by a local business woman, kitchen was renovated into a Buddha Prayer Hall, a new kitchen was made, to the satisfaction of many local folks and Buddhist followers. Bhante hopes to bring more original Buddha teachings to Kuala Kangsar with this centre.
Both temples are again conducting our eleventh novitiate programme this year.
